I am a statistical data scientist. I live in Melbourne, Australia.
I am an Associate Professor and the Director of Engagement at the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics, Monash University. I am also the Treasurer of the Statistical Society of Australia (SSA).
I teach statistics and conduct scientific research in many areas, including election integrity, analysis of expert ratings (e.g. classification of medical images) and statistical genomics. I often work in reconciling Bayesian and classical approaches to statistical inference.
I am a community builder. I organise and support activities that promote statistical thinking and its contribution to society.
I blog about ideas I encounter that make me think, questions I spend time looking up because I couldn’t find a good reference, and things I do that might be of wider interest.
If you ask me a hard question, there’s a good chance it will make an appearance here!
