Want to hire a statistician?
For advertising statistical job openings in Australia, I highly recommend:
- Sending an email to the anzstat mailing list
- Posting an ad on the StatSci.org jobs list
These are both free and will reach a large number (perhaps even the majority?) of statisticians in Australia and New Zealand.
A few other avenues worth considering:
- Advertise through one of the branches of the Statistical Society of Australia. In Victoria, you can do so via the SSA Vic mailing list (scroll down to SSA Vic mailing list for instructions) or the SSA Vic Meetup group.
- Statistical software user groups. For example, if you need someone proficient in R in Melbourne, then advertise via the Melbourne R user group.
- The IAPA jobs list, especially for more commercially focused jobs.
- The employment agency SEEK has a category specifically for jobs in mathematics, statistics & information sciences.
You may also want to advertise internationally. There are probably many avenues available. A few that I am familiar with, which tend to be popular for academic jobs, include:
- The allstat mailing list
- The StatsLife jobs board (run by the Royal Statistical Society)
- The IMS jobs list
- The ASA jobs list
